Conversational 0.7.19 is out: read the changelog

Developers

Add inspectable context to the tool you already use

Developer preview

Two supported starting paths: retrieve passages for an application you already run, or connect Coder to a supported coding host and inspect a context receipt.

Starting material

For Coder: one local repository and a supported host such as VS Code, Cursor, Windsurf, Claude Code or Aider. For a retrieval pilot: a source library you can inspect, plus the answering model your application already uses.

Question

Ask where a function is defined, or request the passages that support a named fact. Then open the context receipt or source references for that turn.

Expected output

Coder returns selected files and a per-turn receipt for eligible requests. A retrieval pilot should return passages with source references your application can display. This is not a wire-compatible replacement for every vector database.

Setup

Install from the product page for the path you chose. A public runnable client quickstart is not claimed until it is tested against an installed released service.

Limits

Connect a supported coding host. Coverage is not identical for every editor or shortcut. Native Composer and Cmd+K in Cursor are partial. A green tray icon is not proof that a prompt was routed. Coverage is not identical for every host. The 81.4% input example is a controlled four-turn result, not a median.

Conversational remains available if the job is documents and chats rather than a repository: Explore Conversational.
